Joking about his age, Biden makes fun of Trump during the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

At the yearly White House Correspondents Dinner on Saturday, President Biden made jokes about his advanced age while he was on stage.

As hundreds of anti-Israel demonstrators gathered outside the Washington Hilton in Washington, D.C., Biden addressed a gathering of over 3,000 journalists, celebrities, and Washington insiders.

Ahead of the November election, Biden’s popularity rating is at an all-time low. However, the annual black-tie affair provides him with a significant platform to address voters and show off his sense of humor.

Biden spoke before a room of nearly 3,000 journalists and celebrities at the annual White House Correspondents Dinner on Saturday.

The 81-year-old Biden cracked jokes to allay voters’ worries about choosing him to serve another four years in government given his elderly age.

“The election of 2024 is well underway. Yes, and yes. Age is a problem. Regarding his rival, former President Donald Trump, the president jokingly said, “I’m a grown man running against a 6-year-old.”

He told the audience, “I feel great, I really feel great.” “I’m traveling the nation in my campaign. I’ve always performed well in the original 13 colonies, including Pennsylvania, Georgia, and North Carolina.

Additionally, he made fun of himself by joking that his wife had confided in him at the previous year’s dinner that she was anxious about his speech.

“Don’t worry, it’s just like riding a bike,” I told her. When she remarked, “That’s what I’m worried about,” he made a joke about his well-known 2022 bike fall in Delaware.

Along with going on the attack, Biden made fun of Trump’s bizarre and meandering address in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, as he reminisced about the fight that took place there during the Civil War.

Biden delivered a 10-minute speech in which he made fun of himself and Trump.

According to Biden, “Trump’s speech was so embarrassing that the Robert E. Lee statue surrendered again.”

He claimed that the only similarity between himself and the 77-year-old Trump is their age.

He mocked the outgoing president by saying, “My vice president actually endorses me,” in reference to Mike Pence.

Additionally, Biden made fun of the former president and his current hush money trial for Stormy Daniels in Manhattan, saying, “You might call it stormy weather, but Donald has had a tough few days lately.”

Since the State of the Union, I’ve enjoyed a fantastic run of luck. You might call it stormy weather, but Donald has had a difficult few days lately,” he remarked.

Additionally, Biden was compelled to attack Trump’s ego.

Trump began reading the bibles he is selling with such desperation that he reached the first commandment: “You should have no other God before me.” At that point, the president stated, “He put it down and said this book isn’t for me.”

Jost was not shy in making light of Biden’s advanced age.

Following the display of a high school photo of Jost, the cartoonist argued that it was unfair that Biden was spared the embarrassment of a high school photo “because the technology wasn’t invented yet.”

“I was eager to join President Biden on stage this evening, primarily to try and deduce where Obama was getting his command,” he jokingly said.

“I have to admit, it’s not easy to follow Biden. It’s really difficult to follow what he’s saying, Jost continued.

The veteran of Saturday Night Live also gave Trump a lot of heat.

Jost said, “I also just wanted to bring out that although Donald Trump has been falling asleep in court every morning for the last week, Sleepy Joe is still up at 10 p.m.

Jost also made fun of The New York Post, his local newspaper of choice.

I’m sorry, but as a resident of Staten Island, the New York Post is where I obtain all of my news. “The only publication in which the headline reads ‘World War Three to Start Tomorrow’ or ‘Central Park Owl Dead in Building Collision,'” the cartoon jokingly stated.

CNN reported that Jeffrey Katzenberg, the co-chair of Joe Biden’s reelection campaign, allegedly met with his campaign staff everyday this week to refine Biden’s comedy routine, which was written by speechwriter Vinay Reddy, in advance of the event on Saturday.

Biden aides worked with the president for several hours, including a four-hour session on Friday night, to adjust his tone and delivery, the site reported.

Israel’s conflict in Gaza is one of the most important topics facing the current president heading into the election; it has cost him significant support from left-leaning Democrats and jeopardized his chances of winning reelection.

Prior to Saturday night’s meal, hundreds of pro-Palestinian demonstrators gathered outside the Washington, D.C. Hilton in large numbers, heckling the elegantly attired guests as they entered the venue.

A large Palestinian flag was hung over the hotel’s side, as seen in the video. As celebrities took pictures behind them, more protestors rushed the red carpet.
Biden has been referred to as “Genocide Joe” by Palestinian sympathizers due to his continued backing of Israel’s war on Gaza, which has claimed the lives of almost 34,000 people. This week, he has faced criticism most notably for signing a $95 billion package of foreign aid, of which $26 billion is for Israel.
Every year, the White House Correspondents Dinner generates funds for student scholarships intended for journalism majors.

During the previous year’s dinner, Biden pledged to release Wall Street Journal writer Evan Gershkovich, who was detained in Moscow in March of last year on suspicion of espionage.

The journalist’s request to be released from pretrial detention was denied by a Moscow court last week, one full year later. As a result, the 32-year-old will stay in custody until at least June 30.

As his parents watched from the stands, Biden restated his promise to return Gershkovich home.

He declared, “We’re doing everything we can to bring fellow journalists home.”
