Over the weekend, pop sensation Sabrina Carpenter experienced a heart-stopping moment during her headline performance at the Outside Lands music festival. As the 25-year-old singer was performing on stage, fireworks suddenly burst behind her, almost hitting her.
A Close Call
Fans have taken footage of Carpenter dancing close to a barrier at the rear of the stage, which is being aired live on Amazon Music. Suddenly, sparks appear behind Carpenter. She lets out a string of screams in response and swiftly leaves the stage.
Despite the terrifying event, Carpenter, ever the professional, came back to complete her show, which featured a special performance by Kacey Musgraves for a duet of “These Boots Are Made for Walkin'” and her summer hit song “Please Please Please”.
An Unexpected Headliner
After Tyler, the Creator had to postpone his June appearance, Carpenter took over as the main act. The singer is presently promoting “Emails I Can’t Send,” her sixth studio album, which is scheduled for release on August 23rd.
Carpenter’s Busy Year
Carpenter made her Coachella debut this year and was the musical guest on Saturday Night Live. It has been quite the year for her. She even played a part in a Scooby-Doo skit, going back to her acting origins.
Her boyfriend, the well-known actor Barry Keoghan, made news in June when she appeared in his music video for the song “Please Please Please.”
